Some scouts notes on Taylor Mays, and Eric Berry

http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010tmays.php

http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010eberry.php

If you want an Ed Reed presence in the defensive backfield, then you should want Eric Berry. You can get Atari Bigby as a big-hitting S with a 2 year/$4 million contract, not wasting a top 3 pick on Mays. I'll take Mays in the second, though.

DeMarco Murray was rated #85 in that top 100 list of prospects I gave you, and I am pretty sure someone is going to take Tony Pike in the 2nd/3rd rounds. Also, Sam Young is #83, but I can see him lasting until round 4. Regarding Freddie Barnes, I'll defer to your knowledge of him. He is about the 20th or so ranked WR right now, with no real size/speed #s to make him jump out. I'd look to get some more speed on the field at WR and RB, which is why I went for Jacoby Hill WR from Clemson (NCAA sprint champion) a little earlier.

Nothing like draft talk in NFL week 11, right? Nice team...

I think they both go. Let the new guys have a clean slate. Clausen's value has certainly grown even in the sub par season. Golden Tate is ready to play. Go!

I definately meant Mays and not Berry. I really like the intensity that he plays with. And yes, I went into fantasy land, but I can and I said I was going to. I can't believe you didn't make any comments on the Freddie Barnes pick?

Either way, after some checking not all of those draft picks are pipedreams.

Wow cuz, you sure ventured into fantasyland on that one, didn't you;) I love your DC pick, I always forget about VaTechs vaunted D-IIRC they run some type of a 3-4 as well? I knew you'd pick Weis for OC because of your ND homerism, but he is a successful NFL OC no doubt.

Taylor Mays at #3. I think you probably meant to say Eric Berry at #3. I like Mays, but he takes bad angles, and can get duped on playaction. The thing is, he hits like an 18 wheeler. I'd rather go Berry at #3, or even gamble and hope for Major Wright from UF to be there in the 2nd.

I like the rest of your picks for sure. I legitimately think we'll take a mid-round QB next year, to slowly bring along. I like bringing in a pass rusher, and to fill out the right side of the OL, with early picks in the draft.

I may have a Randy Lerner game, Version 2.0 out soon.

How could ND possibly let Weis come back? He is a joke. Losses to UConn and Navy.

Hey Jonny, Those numbers are impressive except for the fact they came against my alma mater's junior varsity team. What? No JV team? Wow, Kent football is really bad!

AGREED on the GI JOES front... It's like the closer it gets, the LESS i care. I saw another extended preview (watching FX they had Sienna Miller and someone else (some dude next to Sienna Miller, clearly I didn't even see his face or hear his voice)) and they had a little scene from the movie-- Am I the only one who think those enhancement suits are a load of S*&%? I wanted to see a bunch of badass vehicles that I used to mow lawns for and save up for WEEKS to buy! Just makes me mad.

The Hangover anyone? Seen it? I want to so badly, but can't find the time. Funny People? I can't decide if it will be a riot, or a crap-fest. eh...

GREAT call with the "we love lost" comment. I can't wait to see this movie in a couple days, despite what arrogant critics think-like I could give a F--k about what some guy whose job is to pick apart movies says. I don't expect to see award-winning acting or writing when I go see a summer action movie....I want explosions, lame punch lines, special effects that make me yell "oh sh_t", and the occasional hottie thrown in.

Although the GI Joe movie is starting to look pretty lame....

Ian-your secret is safe with me on the wife front...

However, I think your right. We should be celebrating an extremely well done version of an old classic. Not bashing it. I'd almost love to ask the critics what they really want to see? How attached can you get to robots emotionally. Great analogy with the "We love Lost" idea.

Keep those posts coming...

Dude.... It was good, I think people are starting to look for too much out of movies... They want a plotline that's tangled and hard to follow... let's call them the "We Love LOST" generation. It just seems like people don't want to watch things blow up anymore! It's call "RAMBO" and people should look it up.. Terrible plot, YES. Awesome movie, YES. Make $247 GaGillion dollars, yes. Love it, Yes.

This is just another in a long line of action movies with crappy plots... They are Robots from Cybertron! How deep can you get? Robots waxing robots is all I want to see! High Five Michael Bay, I feel like it's Christmas, because that is just what I wanted.

p.s. megan fox is my new wife, but don't tell my real wife..
